Desktop & Server Support - Keeping your company running

Supporting a company's information technology needs are becoming more and more complicated as networks are growing as well as the amount of data being stored on desktops and servers.  We can assist in a variety of ways to support your end users and your server equipment on an emergency or routine basis.  We have clients that will call us as needed and billed an hourly rate, while other clients will have us come in on a scheduled basis to ensure that their systems are up and running and fix any user and server issues at that time.  Clients on a scheduled basis are provided a discount for their monthly commitment while also getting higher priority when there is an emergency.

Areas that we can assist your company are as follows:

  • Storage Solutions - We can assist with NAS and SAN solutions that allow for your company's data to grow while maintaining the ability to recover from a disaster.  SAN solutions today are not as expensive as they used to be and still allow multiple snapshots of your data to be captured to allow quick recover in case of deleted files as well as providing better fault tolerance and the ability to grow to larger capacities without starting over.
  • Networking - From the simple networking of an office to connecting multiple office locations together, we have experience in utilizing VPNs, MPLS connections, and wireless solutions.  VPNs allow for encrypted connections to link offices and individuals together to access corporate resources.  MPLS circuits are designed to be private network links to connect locations without traversing the normal internet circuits.  Wireless solutions include recommending and installing secure wireless access points to provide internal users access to company resources anywhere in the office.
  • Email - With the experienceof dealing with large enterprise email flows, we are able to setup the email servers, configure them to work with content filters, implement virus scanning, install spam protection, and integrate PGP encryption within the mail flow.  Email has become a huge component of the company's communication tool and needs to be maintained and available.
  • Remote Support - As part of our services, we offer remote IT support from the servers to the desktop users.  Depending on the level of services desired, we are capable of servicing a large portion of the computers quickly without having to come out on-site.  This is a service we make available for clients after evaluating the client's network and machines.
  • Wireless Handheld Support - We have integrated many handheld devices to the network.  This includes the BlackBerry Enterprise Server which allows users of BlackBerry handhelds to automatically sync their email, contacts, and calendar with the email server.  GoodLink is also an alternative to BlackBerry that works well with Windows and Palm devices.  The last portion includes the iPhones and Windows mobile devices that can connect directly to the Microsoft Exchange server to retrieve updated information on the go.  We can assist in implementing these technology solutions based on your company's needs.
  • Databases - Databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL can be supported depending on the needs of the company as we have experience using these databases with a variety of web based solutions that we have implemented.  Most companies also use the database in conjunction with an application that they are using and we can assist in monitoring, backing up, and working with the software vendor to troubleshoot issues.
  • Backups - There are many ways to perform backups and finding the right solution for a company is always difficult depending on the need for the data and the speed of the recovery.  The classic way of backing up to tape has been updated with the addition of storage solutions that support snapshots, online backup, and disk to disk backup.  Allow us to show you a variety of solutions and costs to see what solution will benefit your company the most.
  • Monitoring - With remote and on-site monitoring we can provide a level of support to help quickly warn of possible issues before they get out of hand.  Remote monitoring allows us to verify the internet access to the company's network resources and along with on-site monitoring allows for the verification of the local databases, servers, connections are running properly.
  • Server Support - From server building to server maintenance and upgrades, we have performed these services and are capable of taking over from in-house staff or previous consultants.  We will assist in troubleshooting and fixing server related issues as well as ensure that updates are performed in a timely manner with the least amount of down time.
  • Desktop Support - End user support is a large portion of the assistance that is visible to all people in a company and we have experience with installing, troubleshooting, and assisting in many of the common programs the end user may use.  Some of these programs include: Microsoft Office, CCH, QuickBooks, Winzip, WinRAR, FTP, PGP, PDF, and many other basic to advanced functions on the computer.
  • Virtualization - In keeping up with the latest trends, we have embraced virtualization.  VMWare is one of the leaders in the market and they allow for one physical piece of hardware to run multiple servers ontop of it.  This allows for less phyiscal servers to be purchased which means less power and making it easier to manage, deploy, and decommission servers through the lifecycle.  Let us know how we can assist with reducing your IT footprint as well as providing more capabilities.
  • Documentation - With many of the projects that we perform, one of the major requested items is to document the items performed to allow for continuity of the network functions long after we are gone.  We provide these services to the customer if they request the information to be documented specifically to allow them to have notes of changes as well as provide end users with materials to repeat a series of steps to configure or modify settings.
